Advertised posting ranges vs the attested LCA band, per role
GET https://usefootnote.com/api/data/v1/wage-comparison/employer
200: { data, meta }. Free tier: comparison count + any-below flag. Pro/enterprise: per-role comparisons with the band's true resolution area (attested_area_type). Every tier carries data_gaps — a failed or degraded lookup is stated, never rendered as a clean record. Errors: 400 bad params · 401 missing/invalid key · 403 key suspended · 429 burst or daily cap (retry-after header) · 5xx typed { error: { code, message } }.
Tier
Every tier. Free keys see the free window; Developer, Data Pro and Enterprise widen it — the exact figures below.
| Tier | Calls | Burst | WARN window |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 50/day | 10/min | 30 days |
| Developer | 1,000/day | 30/min | 12 months |
| Data Pro | 10,000/day | 120/min | 24 months |
| Enterprise | 100,000/day | 600/min | full archive |
Parameters
| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| name | string | yes | Employer legal name (2–160 chars). Matching is exact-normalized-name plus registered aliases (including known corporate renames) — never fuzzy: Footnote under-matches rather than misattributes. |
Example
curl -s "https://usefootnote.com/api/data/v1/wage-comparison/employer?name=Acme%20Corp" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer fn_live_YOUR_KEY"
200 — Position language, never accusation; each row names the area its band actually resolved at. Every response is { data, meta }; rate-limit headers (x-ratelimit-limit, x-ratelimit-remaining) ride on every call.
